Ivan Rabideau

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Ivan Thomas Rabideau on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at the age of 95 at Southbridge Pinewood,
after a battle with dementia.

Ivan was born September 11, 1930 in Fort William.  After finishing high school he started work at Kam Motors in the Parts Department,
where he worked until his retirement.  While working at Kam Motors, he met Rosemarie Kushnier.  They were married  in July, 1957.

Ivan loved spending time in the outdoors, golfing, hiking, biking, cross country skiing and spending time in his greenhouse and
looking after his gardens.  In the winter you could always find him swimming laps at the Complex.  He was a man of many trades
and loved to tinker with his model railway, boats and vintage model airplanes.  Ivan loved to travel Canada from coast to
coast and every summer consisted of a family vacation somewhere across the country.

Ivan is survived by his wife of 69 years, Rosemarie, daughters Arlene (Dave Currie) and grandson Darren, Heather (Andy Ellam)
and granddaughters Katey (Jacob Boucher) and Kristen (Matt Epp), Wendy (Ed Jefford), his sister Dian Barichello, in-laws Stan
Kushnier, Lynda and Cosimo Costa, Janet Kushnier, Frank and Rita Kushnier as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ivan was predeceased by his parents Alphonse and Jean Rabideau, his brother Mervin Rabideau (Zonie), sisters Colleen Currie,
Noreen Charban (Ernie), Yvonne Capello (Ray), brother-in-law Lorne Barichello, mother and father-in-law Frances and
Peter Kushnier, brother-in-law Ted Kushnier and sister-in-law Eleanor Kushnier.

As per Ivan’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.  Should friends
and family desire donations to TBRHSC Cardiac Care, St. Patrick’s Cathedral Roof Fund or the Thunder Bay Museum would be
appreciated in lieu of flowers.

The family would like to thank the staff of Southbridge Pinewood, Hummingbird Unit for the excellent care of Ivan the past

three years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
