Frances Ewacha

With heavy hearts, the family of Frances Ewacha announces her peaceful passing on May 1, 2026 at the remarkable age of 105. Born on November 25, 1920, Frances leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her children- daughters Pat Halvorson and Kay Wieser; sons Russell (Gayle), James (Diane), Ken (Debbie), Fred (Nichole), along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by her parents, eight siblings, her husband Nick, son Paul, daughter-in-law Paula, son-in-law Gordon, grandson Richard Wieser, granddaughters Janice Maysky and Patricia Halvorson and three great grandchildren, Gunner Clark, Ranger Clark and Robert Christian Klaas. 

Frances and Nick were married Aug 5, 1939 and raised their seven children in Port Arthur, Ontario. They enjoyed a life full of family gatherings, home cooked meals and travels across North America. She was known for her delicious perogies and her love of bingo and music.

The family wish to thank Jasper Place and Roseview Manor for their love and care.

A celebration of Frances’ life will take place Thursday May 7th, 2026 from 1pm to 4pm at the Oliver Road Community Centre, 563 Oliver Rd for friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice is welcome. A private interment will take place at a later date.
