Ernie John Boyce

December 11, 1958 – April 3, 2026

Ernest John Boyce, 67, a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital on April 3, 2026, with his family by his side.

Ernie was born to Eleanor and Richard Burton on December 11, 1958, in Port Arthur. Ernie came from a wholesome family and a sibling group of 3 (Kathy, Ernie and Denise). Every person has a unique history and Ernie had just that. After high school Ernie began his career at Great Lakes Pulp & Paper Mill and devoted 38 years to this company until retiring. In retirement Ernie worked various positions. Ernie was a sports fanatic for the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Blue Jays and Nascar “#3, man in black- Dale Earnhardt.” Ernie had a cat named Smokey, whom he spent 16 years with and loved dearly. A fond memory his son has of his dad is they shared a passion of sports card collecting. Robert was Ernie’s proudest accomplishment in life! Ernie loved a good party and will be missed by those who knew him and remembered by those that knew him fondly.

Ernie is survived by his son Robert (Nicole) and his sister Kathy (Family).

As per Ernie’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no funeral will be held.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
