Enzo Ernest Santin

October 26, 1934 – May 5, 2026

Enzo Ernest Santin passed away peacefully, on May 5, 2026, at Hogarth Riverview Manor, in his 92nd year.

Born in Chions, Italy on October 26, 1934, Enzo was the youngest of 5 children. He came to Canada at 19 years of age, eventually settling in Fort William and started his own drywall business, Dansan Contracting.

Enzo prided himself on a strong work ethic and was known for his big, generous heart. These qualities were passed along to all five of his children.

On February 15, 1979, he married Maria DiGiuseppe, with whom he shared many happy years devoted to family and friends.

In retirement, Enzo enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a particular passion for gardening. He was known for giving away more tomatoes from his garden than he ever ate himself. His grandchildren hold fond memories of summers spent in Nonno’s garden and sharing meals together around the family table.

Enzo was predeceased by his parents, Arcangelo Santin and Giuseppina Tofolon, his sisters Rina (Bruno) Moretti, Ines (Augusto) Del Bel Belluz, Aurora (Antonio) Rossit and Amelia (Mario) Donno and by his first wife, Milvia Pascot.

Enzo is survived by his loving wife, Maria; his children Debbie (Tim), Gloria, Jackie (Marvin), Patrick, and Angelo (Carla); and his cherished grandchildren Daniella, Olivia, Charlie, Joseph, Lukas, Isabella, Marcello, Juliana, and Luca.

Special thanks are extended to his devoted caregiver, Lynda Bill, as well as the compassionate staff at Hogarth Riverview Manor, for making Enzo’s final months comfortable, safe, and happy. Our family is forever grateful for the care and kindness shown to him.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church, with visitation commencing at 10:30 a.m. Those unable to attend in person may join the services via the livestream link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oL7rXP0RvIg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Foundation of Thunder Bay, or a Charity of your choice. On-line condolences can be made at www.sargentandson.com.
