David Herbert Cordoni passed away June 14, 2026 while resting comfortably at Bethammi Nursing Home at the age of 71. Born June 20, 1954 in Port Arthur Ontario to Herbert and Joanne (nee Martin).
In his younger years, David attended Twin Haven School and later worked at Arc Industries and the Salvation Army. Work was very important to David, so important that he would be there sometimes 2 hours or so before he had to be. David was a very kind and gentle soul always willing to help others in his younger years. He enjoyed the simple things in life, listening to music, dancing, riding his bike for miles, swimming and bowling. He was granted several trophies for his excellent bowling skills. David was a very social person. People watching was one of his favorite pass times while outside smoking cigarettes.
David is survived by his 2 daughters MaryAnne and Suzanne Zuchan. When they could get together for coffee, lunch at McDonald’s or celebrate ones birthday, David’s eyes would light up when he got to be with the girls. David was the oldest of his siblings, surviving is Lawrence Cordoni (Linda) Bobbi-Lynne Matkowski (Terry) Mary-Jo Strey (Rod) Paul Lapierre (Leslie) Suzanne McMahon (Jack) and Timothy Jardine. David is also survived by his treasured Aunt Bobbi Greschuk, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews both near and far as well as several cousins. David was predeceased by our brother Graham, parents and all grandparents as well as his nephew Robert Matkowski.
A graveside ceremony will be held at Riverside Cemetery Section 38 Lot 232 June 26th at 1:00 pm, everyone is welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dew Drop Inn or Thunder Bay District Humane Society.
Life is not going to be the same without you in it David. We love you and we’re gonna miss you bro. If you sensed that we were a little worried about you, you would always say to us “I’ll Be Ok”.
