On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Carol Ann Flatt left this life to join her husband James Bruce. Ann was born March 2, 1944 to Robert and Kathleen Milne. After Robert had completed service in WWII, Ann’s family settled in Ingersoll. At age 23, while working in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ann met then-new Bell Canada employee, Bruce. They later relocated to, and married in, Bruce’s hometown of Thunder Bay, welcoming son Kenneth soon after. They cleared a bush lot and built the family home with help from family and friends. Ann enjoyed volunteering with Five Mile School and the Murillo Library Board. She took pride in crochet, gardening, cooking and baking.
Left to mourn are son Kenneth, brother Wayne Milne (here), sister and brother-in-law Laurainne and Jack Bailie (Penticton, BC), niece Susan Bailie (Andrew)(Ottawa, ON), and many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Robert and Kathleen.
As Ann wished, cremation has taken place, with a private service to be held at a later date. Should friends and family desire, donations to the TBRHSC Renal Unit or Thunder Bay Public Library would be appreciated, in lieu of flowers.
THANK YOU
Ann’s family wish to thank the doctors and the staff of the TBRHSC Renal Unit for their care and concern. Gratitude is also extended to neighbours, friends and niece Debra Gosselin for their support. God bless you all.
