Northwestern Health Unit Moving To Yellow-Protect Stage

The province unveils that the Northwestern Health Unit will be moving to the Yellow-Protect stage.

In total, officials are shifting five public health regions to new levels within the colour coded system.

The Health Unit indicates it made the move in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health of Ontario due to the spike in the number of cases in the Kenora area.

The new level for the region requires stronger measures including safety plans for some businesses, targeted enforcement, fines, and enhanced education to limit the transmission of COVID-19.

The shift takes effect on Monday November 30th at 12:01 a.m.
