NorOnt Teams Up With Australian Firm

A major player in the Ring of Fire mining development in northwestern Ontario has a new partner.

NorOnt Resources President and CEO Alan Coutts tells us Wyloo Metals is an Australian mining company that he hopes can attract investors from down under.

“I think what it will do is it’ll potentially open up the Australian market to us as well and get our story well known overseas,” explains Coutts.

The investment by Wyloo Metals will give them a 35 percent share in NorOnt.

More importantly, though, Coutts is excited Wyloo has a track record of working sustainably and with Indigenous communities.

He notes, “This is a good fit for us because of course, it’s a high priority for us to develop the Ring of Fire in partnership with the local communities and in a responsible manner so we like the fact they are like-minded and want to proceed along these lines. “

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
