Wood supply is on the mind of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association.
President Dave Canfield says wood allocations for local mills is winding down, and need to improve.
“We keep taking more and more and more wood supply out, when there’s no need to, and we keep forgetting about the socioeconomic impact on communities,” says Canfield.
“We can protect the environment – we do that,” he says, “but sustainability is number one for municipalities because it’s our bread and butter.”
