NOMA Prez Find Positives In Budget

The President of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association believes the provincial budget clearly focuses on several municipal priorities.

Wendy Landry says the government appears to acknowledge that rural broadband and reducing municipal costs both require attention.

Landry is also pleased with a commitment to creating 15,000 new long-term care beds over the next five years with upgrades to the same number of older long-term care beds.

She is hoping the beds will be properly allocated throughout the province to ensure that everyone is able to accommodate again seniors in their home community.

Landry adds NOMA will continue to have a dialogue with the government especially around partnership funding and service delivery.
