There are no injuries reported by Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue following a fire at a home in the south end.
Fire crews say they arrived at the scene on Brodie Street South at around 1:30 early Monday morning, to find smoke coming from a basement apartment.
The fire was quickly brought under control, with two families and pets sent to accommodations set up by the Red Cross.
The fire department has not given the cause or damage estimate.

Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
