No Concerns Over Ambulance Shortage

Thunder Bay EMS is short two ambulances following a couple of recent collisions.

One was lost in an accident on Highway 102 a couple of weeks back and then on Friday one was rear-ended by a transport truck while it was stopped at a red light.

It could be two more weeks before the first one is repaired and brought back into service.

Superintendent Nick Enders says they have a fleet 47 vehicles and so finding replacements is not a problem in this case.

Enders explains they can borrow vehicles from the district if they need to fill any gaps.

He says patient safety will not be affected by the ambulance shortage.
