Nine rail cars leave the tracks near Raith

A Canadian Pacific-Kansas City train has derailed near Raith.

It happened early Sunday evening.

A spokesperson tells Acadia News that nine intermodal cars carrying shipping containers and general freight were involved.

No dangerous goods were involved.

No one was injured.

The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.

The mishap comes on the first day of a nationwide strike by the company’s signals and communications workers who are responsible for maintaining those systems.
