Night one of drone show postponed – rescheduled – night two as planned Thursday

City of Thunder Bay officials, sighting the forecast for Wednesday evening, have postponed night one of the highly anticipated drone show at Marina Park. The rescheduled date is September 19th.

However, the planned show for Thursday night, August 28 is still on.

A media release from the city says “Drone light shows are dependent on favourable weather conditions. Rain is expected tomorrow afternoon during the critical setup period, followed by increasing winds in the evening, creating unsafe conditions for drone operation. In the interest of public safety and in compliance with Transport Canada regulations, the show cannot proceed based on these conditions.”

All other activities for the Live on the Waterfront – Summer Send-Off will proceed as planned on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings with live music, food vendors, artisans, community booths, and more.

Shuttles will be available from 6:00 to 11:00 pm, starting and ending at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium.
