If you’re driving along Algoma Street you’ll notice some new paint work on the road.
The lines are to alert drivers of a pedestrian crossover.
Active Transportation Coordinator Adam Krupper says the thorough fare was selected for a number of reasons including the high volume of motor vehicle traffic, number of crashes at that intersection and the amount of foot traffic.
You can expect an increased police presence in the area so officers can let drivers know that they have to stop when a person wants to cross the road.
