New parking fees in store at the airport

It’s going to cost you more to park at the Thunder Bay Airport in the fall.

Starting on November 1st, the new fees will go into effect.

It will be $3 an hour, up from $2, and $22 a day, an increase from $20.

Jackie MacDonald is the Director, Business Development and Revenue Management and says the increased fees are in response to upgrades being made in the parking area.

“These upgrades are a direct response to the increasing demand we’re seeing from travelers and will help improve safety, efficiency, and the overall airport experience,” said MacDonald.

“We understand that fee increases are never ideal, but are necessary to support the infrastructure and service levels our community expects and deserves.”

Improvements include the addition of 200 new stalls and wider parking spaces.
