Let’s Avoid A Lockdown Says Chamber President

A sobering message from the president of the Chamber of Commerce with new COVID rules upon us.

Starting today, the Thunder Bay district was bumped up to the Orange-Protect range of the provincial COVID-19 framework.

Charla Robinson believes by the district moving into the Orange level, it will show us the pandemic is getting more serious.

“I think this sends a message to business and to the community the situation is not getting better and that we need to really double our efforts and diligence in order to try to keep each other safe,” she said.

The chamber president adds we should be more aware than ever of who we come into contact with.

Robinson adds “We do not want to hear about (the Red level) or a lockdown for sure, we want to be moving in the opposite direction.”

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
