New Commander Wants To Make An Impact

There is a new commander of the naval reserves in Thunder Bay.

Nathanael Moulson was officially named following a change of command ceremony at the HMCS Griffon.

He is originally from Thunder Bay and joined the military right out of high school in 2002 and “ended up sailing quite a bit on the west coast for 10 years.”

After that he worked as a professor at the Royal Military College in Kingston before coming back to the city for this position.

The new commander wants to increase the influence of the HMCS Griffon.

Following his official installation over the weekend Nathanael Moulson told us his goal is for local reservists to make a difference in the world.

He says once they are part of the reserve unit they should be trained to have “an impact…doing the job they were trained to do.”

Lieutenant Commander Moulson takes over from retiring commander Robert Cooke.
