There’s a new exhibit at Lakehead University detailing the 60’s scoop and the survivors from it.
During the 60s Scoop, over 20,000 Indigenous children in Canada were removed from their biological families, lands and culture and trafficked across provinces, borders and overseas to be raised in non-Indigenous households. The exhibit features first-person testimonies of 12 Indigenous survivors and reflects upon their pain, loss and enduring strength and courage to survive.
You can check out the exhibit and learn more about the book it is based on by visiting the Agora at Lakehead University today, tomorrow and Thursday. The exhibit is presented by the Legacy of Hope Foundation.
