Need some fun in the sun? Try some tie-dying!

I was finding myself really itching to get out of the house this past week, so on Wednesday I decided to do a little tie-dying while it was super sunny and in the twenties! Here’s the results of my tie-dying escapade! I’ve attached a list of supplies, so you can try your hand at it if you’ve looking for something fun to do in the sun!

Hope you have some fun with this!!

Supplies:

  • Tie-dye kit from your favourite craft store OR you can use food colouring but it won’t be as bright!
  • Elastics of different sizes
  • Bleach (with the help of an adult/parent)
  • Black/White Shirts/Sweaters/Pants you want to use
  • Gloves

Instructions:

  1. Wrap elastics about two inches apart on your garment
  2. Twist garment in a spiral or in a fun way to get a unique pattern you like

(BE SURE TO DO THE NEXT STEPS ON A CONCRETE PATIO OR IN AN AREA YOU CAN CLEAN UP DYE OR BLEACH)

  1. Set garment on your workspace and choose the colours you want to use
  2. Pour dye OR bleach on garment to create unique pattern
  3. Wait for dye/bleach to soak into garment and then hang to dry
  4. Once garment is dry, Rinse in cold water and then wash separately from other clothes
