NDP MPs Call For Grave Site Investigation

TWO NDP members are spearheading a march in Ottawa today.

MPs Mumilaaq Qaqqaq from Nunavut and Timmins-James Bay’s Charlie Angus want the federal Justice Minister to launch an independent investigation into grave sites being discovered around residential schools.

They are using today’s walk, called the March for Truth and Justice, to further their cause.

They will be joined by Inuit and First Nation elders and school survivors.

A National Indian Residential School Crisis Line has been set up to provide support for former residential school students. The toll-free line can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 1-866-925-4419.
