Officers with the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service have won an arbitration award. It will see their wages jump by 11%.
The Public Service Alliance of Canada says the award will give employees of the Aboriginal police service wage parity with a first class First Nations officer with the OPP. The award sees their salary jump from just over $77,000 a year up to $86,000.
NAPS provides police service to 35 communities across northern Ontario.
