Murder Investigation Continues

The name of a 20-year old woman charged with second degree murder in relation to a Picton Avenue incident in the north end has been released by Thunder Bay police.

They say Brianna Netemegesic is charged, but police Inspector John Fennell won’t say who the victim is.

“That I cannot, sorry. Unfortunately, as you can imagine right now, with what the family is going through, and they are still reaching out to their family,” says the Inspector.

He adds police remain at the scene in the north end Wednesday morning, and are asking for residents in the area not to touch any evidence they find.

“A lot of the activity took place outside of a residence, people ran. So there’s evidence in that general location, so that’s why we’ve put out a message to the public ‘If you see a piece of evidence, please do not touch it’,” adds Fennell.

Police will stay until they’re satisfied every piece of evidence has been gathered.

“We are also dealing with Toronto, regards to the post mortem. So, lots of times we will hold the scene until after that post mortem, just to make sure that there’s nothing else we should be dealing with or looking for,” points out the Inspector.

The police inspector adds the second victim remains in serious condition, and the accused and victims were known to each other.

Meanwhile, police tell us they are at a Pearl Street address for a Tuesday night weapons call. They were called there around 8:30, sending two women to hospital with unknown injuries.
