The provincial government continues to keep an eye on the forest fire near the community of Pikangikum.
Kenora MPP Greg Rickford notes with the most vulnerable residents now gone, the work remains on getting the 3,800 hundred hectare wildfire under control.
He notes the biggest concern right now is the smoke, which is still blowing away from the community but that could change at any moment..
The Northern Development minister admits there were tense times last week during the evacuation period.
Meantime, Rickford suggests there are no immediate plans to add to the 1,600 most vulnerable residents who have already been airlifted out.
He says that will be left in “in the hands of ministry officials.”
