Students will be moving into Lakehead University’s residence today.
Spokesperson Shannon Foster tells us it’s going to be a pretty busy day.
“Tons of energy, lots of fun. The volunteers are ready, my student staff are ready. We have students moving in from all over the world, and we like to say the parents have done the heavy lifting up until then, and now it’s for us to take it on.”
Foster says they help with moving in their belongings, but also preparing them for living in a new community.
“Everything from getting them acclimatized to not only their new campus, but also to the community as well. There’s a lot of different events happening that will allow them to become really connected with their programs, connect with other students.”
Yesterday, 500 new International students took part in the school’s fall orientation.
