New Painting at Mount McKay

Today kicked off a two day PowWow at Fort William First Nation in conjunction with the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as well as Orange Shirt Day. I was pointed to the Mount McKay facebook page by Danny Foresta, our morning show host and this new painting blew me away. It honours the seven indigenous children who lost their lives in Thunder Bay between 2000 and 2011 and ties in to the book, ‘Seven Fallen Feathers‘ by Tanya Talaga. Some absolutely fantastic work by Laser Lines! You can see more pictures on the Mount McKay Facebook page!

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
