Motorcyclist Learns Not Everything Is True Online

A motorcyclist was let off with a warning from local police after they were stopped on the weekend for riding without a helmet.

Police stopped a motorcyclist and their passenger on Arthur Street on Sunday.

The driver told the officer, they had read on a motorcycle forum that the Premier had lifted the requirement for motorcycle helmets in Ontario, but after seeing may riders still wearing helmets he became suspicious and decided to return home to review the post.

The driver then told officers he found out the information in the forum post was false.

The officer cautioned the motorcyclist regarding Ontario’s helmet laws.
