More people in Ontario, and here across the Thunder Bay district, are now eligible to access Legal Aid Services.
The income level at which people can qualify has been increased 6%.
The province says that means about 153,000 more people will be eligible for legal services from Legal Aid Ontario.
The government’s putting $86-million into the system to meet the increase.
