More Funding To Combat Invasive Species

Some financial assistance is coming to the Invasive Species Centre.

The Sault. Ste. Marie-based facility has done some work in northwestern Ontario.

It’s receiving $850,000 to continue working on how to respond to invasive species.

In northwestern Ontario, the centre’s research has included Asian carp, mountain pine beetle and rusty crayfish.

It has also supported education programs around the transport of illegal bait fish.
