More COVID Restrictions Possible For Region

With 93 active COVID-19 cases in the region, we could be headed for more provincial restrictions.

The District Health Unit’s Medical Officer Dr. Janet DeMille suggests moving up from Yellow to Orange is a real possibility for next week.

Right now Dr. DeMille says “Our indicators are at the Orange level at least” and that she will be discussing the issue with provincial health officials when the numbers are reviewed later this week.

She believes if there is no substantial improvement this week it may warrant us moving to Orange.

Meantime, the COVID-19 outbreak at Southbridge Roseview long-term care has no signs of slowing down but Dr. DeMille does not believe the facility let its guard down in any way, but it should be a time to review protocols.
