McCarville Won’t Try For Calgary Scotties

The 2021 Scotties Tournament of Hearts is not Krista McCarville’s radar.

The championship curler tells us COVID-19 means she and her rink will not make any attempt to play towards getting to the Calgary tournament.

“The biggest decision was basically just making sure I’m being safe with my family and I’m also a teacher so I have students and their families to think about,” explains McCarville.

The teams in Calgary will be playing in a ‘bubble’ and while she says “It looks secure and safe for all the curlers, you have to get through some of the major airports to get there.”

McCarville hopes to compete in the Canadians Women’s Curling Championship when it comes to Thunder Bay in 2022.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
