Mayor Expresses Condolences To Dead Teen’s Family

Condolences from Thunder Bay’s mayor on the death of 17-year-old Braiden Jacob, the missing teen, whose body was found on the weekend.

Bill Mauro has expressed his condolences and sympathies to the dead teen’s family and friends on behalf of the city.

He as told the family the city is “saddened beyond words.”

Mauro thanked all those to took part in searching for the teen while he was missing.

The mayor suggests it’s too early though, to give any opinions on what the broader implications of Braiden’s death might be on the community.

Meantime the Thunder Bay Police service still has not formally acknowledged it was Braiden’s body which was found.

They say the body has been sent to Toronto for a post-mortem on Wednesday.

They are hoping anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area prior to Sunday morning to contact them.
