Steps:

Project Time: 1 Hour

Plug your glue gun in.

Start by cutting your cardboard backing to size. Your entire DIY project will be glued directly to this base.

You will need approximately 6 – 7 brown felt fabric squares for Chewbacca’s luxurious coat of fur cut equal to size. Cut each of these pieces into strips leaving about a half inch at the top so the pieces will remain intact. Glue these half inch areas directly to the cardboard overlapping each layer in the same direction. Near the top of our wookie rotate the layers facing the opposite direction so our puppet doesn’t look so clean cut.

Using the black construction paper cut out a large Chewbacca nose. Guestimate the size based on your project. You can make a few and decide which one works best. Glue the eyes and the nose to the brown felt.

Back to crafting! We used grey felt to make Chewbacca’s belt sizing it based on our project. We followed that up with the white felt cutting out approximately 6 small rectangles to add details to Chewbacca’s belt like a double line on a highway! We glues the white pieces down to the belt first prior to securing it to Chewie.

There you have it! Now back to practicing our Chewbacca call!
