Man facing several charges following weapons incident at Andras Court

A man is facing several charges following a weapons-related incident at Andras Court.

On Friday officers were sent to the building on Cumberland Street South around 9:00 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots.

Officers secured the scene, and a suspect was identified and located.

They were taken into custody without issue.

No injuries were reported.

As a result, a 38-year-old man has been charged with the following:

  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon obtained by commission of offence
  • Discharging firearm with intent
  • Failure to comply with probation order

The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
