A 22-year old man is facing charges after reports of an alleged shoplifting incident at a Dawson Street department store.
Police tell us staff confronted the suspect just after 7 last night.
They add he then threatened staff with an edged weapon, before running off.
Police soon found him at a nearby store, and arrested him peacefully.
No one was hurt.
The man has been charged with assault with a weapon and breach of probation, and will be in court Tuesday.
