Making Parks Easier To Navigate

City council is revisiting the potential of installing wayfinding signage at intersections of trails in Centennial Park and Trowbridge Falls.

This was first brought forward by At-Large Councillor Aldo Ruberto: “There should be simple signs that say where you are, how far to the parking lot, and which direction to go, simple. They used to mark the trails with a blue paint for a long time, the paint has faded.”

Ruberto adds that while this will benefit tourists and people new to the area, he is also hearing from individuals that know the parks well that support updating the signs.

“I know people that have been out there a lot, and they walk by and get lost for like half an hour,” notes Ruberto. “For me, from the information I’m getting, we need to do something to make it easier, and more fun, and a more enjoyable experience.”

This is the first time the project will be discussed by council who will be looking at price, installation of signs, and design.
