Provincial Funds For Magnus Theatre

An injection of money for Magnus Theatre from Ontario’s Community Building Fund.

The $217,400 grant will allow the facility to operate and deliver artistic programming by supporting salaries and operating expenses during reopening.

“I am happy to see Magnus Theatre receive this grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation,” said Michael Gravelle, MPP for Thunder Bay-Superior North. “This funding will help enhance the virtual delivery of services and programming, which has been vital during the current COVID-19 pandemic. The Arts Sector, through organizations like Magnus Theatre, provides significant economic benefits to our province.”

The money will also help enhance technology and expand its digital programming streams.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
