It’s the first day of school for Lakehead University students.
Student Success Director Sarah Lewis tells us they are welcoming over a thousand new students this fall.
“It’s the beginning of an adventure for them. This year, our motto is ‘Ignite Your Adventure’ and that’s really what it feels like. It’s the very starting point for new students’ adventure in their educational experience.”
The Lakehead University official tells us the school is full of excitement for the start of the new school year.
Lewis describes the school’s energy as electric.
After some fun orientation activities last week, she notes it’s now time for the serious matters at hand.
“Finding their way to their new classes, meeting their classmates and their professors, it’s really the beginning of their academics. That’s where the Student Success Centre provides academic support and other kinds of support for students as they start into their studies.”
