LU Sets Out Cannabis Rules On Campus

Smoking or vaping recreational cannabis won’t be allowed on Lakehead University property.

The school released a policy that’ll take effect when recreational pot becomes legal on Wednesday.

It does allow people aged 19 or older to use recreational marijuana in LU residence rooms but not by smoking or vaping.

The rules won’t apply to authorized medical or research use of pot.

Growing cannabis plants will also be banned on all Lakehead University property.

The school will review the new policy at least once every three years once it kicks in, which will include checking in with students, staff, and faculty.
