The hard work will be paying off today and tomorrow for graduates at Lakehead University.
They will be receiving their degrees at three separate convocation cermonies at the Community Auditorium.
Approximately 1,800 students are graduating.
Today students from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, Law, Engineering, and Natural Resources Management will be honoured.
Tomorrow the morning event will feature grads from Health and Behavioural Sciences, and Business.
The afternoon ceremony on Saturday will be for students of Education, Science, Environmental Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities.
The university will also be honouring Northwestern Ontario Women’s Centre coordinator, Gwen O’Reilly, retired Chronicle-Journal publisher Colin Bruce, Indigenous rights advocate Marlene Pierre, and award-winning author and Toronto Star columnist Tanya Talaga.
