Search and rescue station across Ontario are winding down.
As of Monday, the Thunder Bay station is closed for the winter.
The Canadian Coast Guard says rescue boats at the sites can’t operate in frozen waters.
Through the season, the Canadian and U.S. Coast Guards will use icebreakers or aircrafts for search and rescue operations, if necessary.
The station is expected to reopen in April 2015.
