Local Paramedics Endure Numerous Assaults

Three incidents in which Thunder Bay paramedics have been assaulted are under investigation by city police.

They tell us the first was late Friday night on Wiley Street in the south end, where they claim an intoxicated youth was arrested after becoming aggressive with paramedics.

The second was a few hours later on Enniskillen Avenue, where police say an intoxicated woman fled from paramedics after becoming combative.

Police eventually found her and took her to the hospital.

Police say the third one was around 1:30 Saturday morning, when a woman was refusing to leave an Arthur Street hotel lobby.

Police claim she assaulted a paramedic, who still got her to hospital, where she was treated for injuries from another incident.
