Lots of compliments from the local EDA President towards the Green Party leader.
Annamie Paul just needs a seat in the House of Commons, which is why she is on the ballot Monday night for the federal by-election in Toronto Centre.
“She is absolutely transparent with all of her dealings. She’s very ethical about how she carries herself. she’s very knowledgeable about the things that she speaks about and I’m very excited to have her as a leader,” says Thunder Bay-Rainy River EDA President Amanda Moddejonge. “She understands what the system is and that’s very important for changing the direction of the party in such a way that it is more understandable to the voters and that way we can communicate our message better.”
Annamie Paul takes the spot held by Elizabeth May, who has been leader since 2006.
The seat Paul hopes to snag is the one that was held by former Minister of Finance Bill Morneau.
“I would be foolish to say that we are a major party the same way that the Liberals or Conservatives are. I believe we’re the more ethical choice, we have backbone and that’s a different story altogether,” adds Moddejonge, when asked about the vote Monday.
