The Thunder Bay and Area Food Strategy is meeting with the City of Thunder Bay today to discuss the Local Food Procurement Project.
The Food Strategy says the project will encompass a broad range of stakeholders including local farmers, processors and distributors and aims to increase the purchase of locally-sourced foods.
Consultant Sarah Megens believes Thunder Bay has a great amount of interest in local foods.
Megens goes on to say that the project will help open up new business opportunities in the area.
