‘Numerous’ Leads Come In About Missing Woman

The search continues for a missing 26-year-old Thunder Bay area woman.

OPP Sergeant Mike Golding tells us they have received numerous tips since offering a reward of $50,000 for information on the whereabouts of Alyssa Turnbull “And as a result, we have investigators from the Criminal Investigations Branch following up every individual tip.”

The police remain tight-lipped about what information those leads may contain.

“Maintaining the integrity of the investigation is our number one priority,” explains Golding who adds, “Letting… mistruth get out into the public…not only would…be detrimental to our investigation but also to the family.”

Meantime police continue to search the wastewater plant in Nipigon for any clues about where Alyssa might be.

She was reported missing in April, and last seen in the Nipigon area in March.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
