Lakehead University and Paapiiwaaniimaan Grassy Narrows Mercury Care Home (GNMCH) will formally sign a Memorandum of Understanding and Memorandum of Agreement on Wednesday.
According to a Lakehead press release, the goal of the agreement is to advance education, workforce development, student placements, and community-driven research.
Dr. Chief Sherry Ackabee and Deputy Chief Bear Copenace of Grassy Narrows First Nation will be in attendance as well as Lakehead President Dr. Gillian Siddall and Health and Behavioural Sciences Dean Dr. Mirella Stroink.
The event will be held at Lakehead’s Agora. Opening prayer and ceremony are scheduled for 11 am.
