Lakehead Marine and Industrial owes its 80 employees around two million dollars in severance packages.
It comes after the former Port Arthur Shipyards filed for bankruptcy protection.
Steelworkers Union Spokesperson Herb Daniher says they held a creditors meeting Wednesday to discuss where they go from here.
Daniher is hopeful that a different company will want to revive the business.
