Keeping Your Kids Home From School

This notification came out from the Lakehead Public School Board’s Facebook page today (via the Thunder Bay & District Health Unit) about what we, as parents, should do if our kids are feeling sick. I’ve already had a couple of days where we’ve kept kids home from school because they had a mild fever and sore throat, but for the most part that can be explained away by allergies and/or their innate stubbornness about actually going to bed on time. However, this won’t always be the case and as the weeks go in, it’s going to become more and more important for all of us to monitor our kids. I’m not crazy about taking my six year old in to get a Covid-19 test if I KNOW he’s just exhausted from the new routine, but if it can’t be easily explained or if I know I’m just ‘guessing’ at the cause…then it’s time to take him in. I’ve posted the notifications below and you can check out the Lakehead Public School Board’s facebook page here.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
