NASA was set to launch the ARTEMIS 1 earlier this week, but a fuel leak cancelled the launch.
Now, the Artemis 1 “moon mission” is a go for Saturday (September 3) afternoon, with a 2 hour ‘launch window’ starting just after 2. If Saturday’s launch is scrapped, they’ll try again on Monday. If that doesn’t happen….it’ll be pushed to September 19th!
NASA is sending an unmanned rocket to orbit the Moon for about 40 days. It’ll orbit about 100 km’s above the Moon for a while. If the launch is a GO for tomorrow, it’ll splashdown in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego on October 11.
The goal is to eventually send astronauts back to the MOON in about 3 or 4 years. Humans were last on the Moon……50 years ago.
Do you think it’s time to go back? Cheers!
