Inquest Into Jail Death Begins

An inquest into the death of a 42-year-old man at Thunder Bay’s District jail starts Monday.

It will look into why Timothy Elliott passed away while in custody in September of 2015.

The jury might make recommendations leading to the prevention of further deaths, and will hear from a number of witnesses.

An inquest is required whenever there is a death at the jail.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
